MELITA
Rev. John Bacchus Dykes wrote the hymn tune MELITA for the hymn "Eternal Father, Strong to Save" for its inclusion in the Hymns Ancient and Modern. In the account in Acts 28:1 of Paul’s shipwreck on the way to Rome, Melita is the name of the island to which all of the people onboard swam to safety. The island is now known as Malta.
